This is a story specially written for children in the playgrounds of Eton or Harrow. Santa Claus is in this story. I saw him at Church, and I'm a Mormon. He was there in July, if I am not mistaken, wearing his fetching red knickerbockers with suspenders on his shoulders, also red, and his hair was snowy white, and if I remember correctly, he was donning a forest green flannel shirt and it was Sunday. That must have been one of his fetching summer shirts. He had a twinkle in his eye and roses in his cheeks. At least I think he was Santa Claus, he looked like Santa Claus, and he was just hurrying along in the church hallway on his way.
Don't come to Canada, children, he said. He did? I didn't catch that part. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention. Perhaps I was thinking about Allan, or snowmobiles humming in the distance in the snow up North in the winter in fabulous Burns Lake, or perhaps I was singing a hymn to myself or humming the Star Spangled Banner because I was needing strength from the Lord, who knows. I thought I was just wondering what Santa Claus was doing at church, but then I saw him there at Christmas time, so why would I be surprised to see him there in July? He's a good fellow, he goes to church. Oh, I have now heard from my voices that he goes to the synagogue, he was just there looking to see who all the good little girls and boys were, so he'd know who deserved the nice presents at Christmas!
Now, as I was saying, there was once a woman who went to heaven and came down again. She did not come back to earth because she was bad, but rather because she was dimwitted you think? No, she was helpful to earth people as many people (otherwise called angels if you're polite) are these days. Don't you notice all the angels about? I do. I've got a few friends who are angels. You can't see their snowy white wings unless you look very carefully when the light is shining on them. Sometimes angels come back to earth to help us out.
Don't worry if someone takes your life, children, you can always come back as an angel. I've just had a birthday, and I'm getting younger and younger in my energy level, but I think that is because I have a mission to perform and I'm being blessed.
Thanks for listening, children!
